World Book Day - 2018

World Book Day 2018

It may have been delayed by a few days, due to the snow, but World Book Day finally took place today. It started with our annual Reading Breakfast. Over thirty parents came and enjoyed a coffee or tea and a croissant whilst reading with their child/children.

Activities took place during the morning linked to the class book chosen by each teacher. Upper Key Stage 2 worked from the Dr Seuss poetry book, Green Ham and Eggs. Each class wrote their own versions of the poem and illustrated the class book cover in the afternoon.

After playtime, all the school gathered to parade, in turn, in the school hall. There were some very impressive costumes!

After lunch the emphasis was on creative activities to go alongside the English activities from the morning. At the end of the day children from Morpurgo class went to Bright Stars to read stories to the little ones, everyone had a lovely time!
