Meet the Governors

The members of the governing body are either staff, parents or members of the community. The current members of the Govering Body are:

Lucinda Bellett (Staff Governor)

I currently work at Ongar Primary School as the Year 6 teacher and Head of Mathematics. I have been working at the school for the last three academic years and have been part of the many positive changes in which the school has undertaken throughout this time. At university, I obtained a First Class BEd Honours Degree in Primary Education, which has driven me towards my current role as Assistant Headteacher within our school.

I am an enthusiastic, dedicated, bubbly member of the teaching team at Ongar Primary School and staff governor. In my free time – when I am not teaching – I enjoy retail therapy, spending time with my family and socialising with friends.

Nicola Brown (Parent Governor)
I moved back to the Ongar area about 18 months ago, and  my youngest daughter started school at Ongar Primary. I recently joined the governing body as I enjoy getting involved with the schools my children attend. I attended this school as a child when it was two separate buildings with a swimming pool in-between.  Happy memories!

Kathy Dale (Co-opted Governor; Vice Chair)

I have been a Governor at Ongar Primary School since September 2014 and during this time I’ve enjoyed working in roles such as the Pupil Premium, EYFS and Assessment Link Governor alongside the rest of the Governing Body. I became Vice Chair in November 2015.

In my professional life I am an Assessment Manager at a University where I manage a team that delivers all the University’s exams, processes marks and finalises award as well as generating certificates.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, knitting and competing in Pub quizzes and walking my loveable dog Jackson.  I also volunteer within Essex for the British Red Cross Emergency Response team supporting people in times of crisis such as fire or flood.

Rosemary Lovatt (Co-opted Governor, Chair)

I have been involved in school governance for many years.  I have experience as a secondary school governor, academy trustee and am now a trustee of a multi academy trust.  I became chair of the governing body at Ongar Primary School in 2015.  I am a National Leader of Governance (NLG) and the Advocate for NLGs for East of England. I am an experienced governance tutor and mentor, supporting governors and chairs across Essex and the East England.  I am passionate about education and the role good governance can play in ensuring every child receives the education they deserve.

Christina Manciocchi (Parent Governor)

I moved to the area 18 months ago and my son started school at Ongar Primary School. I have recently become a parent governor because I was so pleased with the school and wanted to be involved in ensuring the school continues to thrive and builds an even stronger reputation in the community. I thoroughly enjoy being a governor and hope to be one for many years!

Monika Ziola (LA Governor)

I’m very excited to be part of a great team of governors that continues to work hard to ensure the school is an outstanding place to learn not just in academia, but also in the rich learning experiences that will set the foundation to help children grow and develop up into confident, self-expressed, happy and fulfilled adults.

I have been living in UK since 2006, working as an accountant for companies in the City and in Essex. Having gained chartered accountant accreditation through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in 2010, I also went on to qualify as a Chartered Company Secretary in 2015 to add corporate governance to my skillset.

In my free time I enjoy horse riding, gardening and travelling – although time available for those pursuits is very limited as I have two young sons.
